The Challenge

Caritas Australia wanted to improve the performance of its Lead Conversion Program by identifying which supporter engagement strategies generated the highest-quality Regular Giving leads. Working in partnership, Caritas, Ntegrity and GiveTel tested and refined campaigns, acquisition strategies and tele-fundraising conversations to improve both conversion and long-term donor retention.

What We Learned

The highest-converting donors came from timely, mission-aligned campaigns connected to urgent humanitarian needs. Success wasn't driven by creative alone. Ongoing collaboration between Caritas, Ntegrity and GiveTel ensured campaign insights, call guide refinements and fundraiser feedback continually improved both conversion and retention.

Key Takeaways

The greatest improvements came from treating acquisition, conversion and retention as one connected supporter journey. By combining smarter targeting, stronger creative and GiveTel's Every Call Counts approach, the partnership delivered better quality leads, higher conversion rates, 79.3% donor retention and a more effective Regular Giving acquisition program.

The Results

RG conversion rates increased from 3.85% to 7.22% across major campaigns. The Gaza campaign delivered a 30% increase in conversion rate. The Sudan campaign achieved a 16.43% RG conversion rate—more than four times higher than some early campaigns. Average monthly gifts increased from $16.56 to more than $32. GiveTel’s automated post-call welcome email and SMS strengthened engagement and helped deliver strong retention rates.

“The Givetel team have always been incredible to work with. The teams performance on our 2-step campaign was excellent, it demonstrated their dedication to improvement and optimisation and understanding of our mission. Operationally their team is incredibly organised and skilled at what they do. We are looking forward to working with Givetel more and would highly recommend them as a great partner for Telemarketing.””
